What is Andromeda?

Andromeda is a complete solution for local AI on your PC. It's an all-in-one package that lets you run powerful AI models directly on your computer — no cloud required, no internet needed.

With Andromeda, you're in full control. Your data stays on your device, and you decide when and if anything connects to the internet. It's AI that works for you, not against your privacy.

Where can I get Andromeda?

The core software is free. Andromeda is available through Steam Early Access.

A free Steam Demo is also available — try it out before diving into the full Early Access version.

In the future, optional paid add-ons such as a Supporter Pack and a Pro version are planned.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Andromeda runs completely offline. You only need internet for the initial download and optional updates.

Some optional features (like web search) may use the internet, but that's always your choice. The core AI functionality works entirely on your local machine.

What are the system requirements?

We're working hard to make Andromeda run on as many systems as possible, including less powerful hardware.

Exact requirements are still being finalized during Early Access. Check the Steam page for current specifications — we'll update them as we optimize the software.

What languages does Andromeda support?

The user interface is currently available in 22 languages.

Our goal is to eventually support all major languages so everyone around the world can use Andromeda in their native language.

Note: UI language is separate from the AI's language capabilities, which depend on the underlying models.

How do updates work?

Updates are delivered through Steam, just like any other Steam game or software. You'll receive improvements, bug fixes, and new features automatically.

Can I use Andromeda for commercial purposes?

Yes! You can use Andromeda for personal projects, in your business, or as part of your professional work — free of charge up to an annual revenue of €200,000.

Above that threshold, a commercial license is required, which you can request directly from us via our contact page. You may never resell or redistribute the Andromeda software itself.

What happens to my data?

Your data stays on your PC. That's the core principle of local AI.

All your conversations and files remain on your device. We're also planning a one-click export feature so you can easily back up or transfer your chats.

If you use optional internet features (like web search), only the data needed for that specific request is sent — and that's entirely your choice.

Is there a free demo version?

Yes! A free demo of Andromeda is available on Steam.

Try it out and get a feel for local AI before deciding whether to jump into the full Early Access version.

Why the name "Andromeda"?

The name comes from our love of astronomy — specifically the Andromeda Galaxy, our nearest galactic neighbor.

To us, "Andromeda" sounds futuristic, powerful, and elegant. It fits our vision of bringing advanced AI technology to everyone's PC. It's about reaching for the stars while keeping your feet (and your data) firmly on the ground.
